World, meet Shivani

Hi there! I’m a product designer who likes to design by observing, questioning and exploring. The 3 tools I always fallback on are– user research, data and my design intuition.

I consistently strive to create designs that are first and foremost functional but have an equal focus on being user-friendly and viscerally fun. My job as a designer is to vouch for the right balance between all three, never sacrificing one for the other.

For the past 4 years, I've been working at Meta, across multiple teams; but most recently on the Small Business Ads team within the Monetization Org. I led the development of an ads platform, which allows Meta apps to enable ad tools within their own surfaces to offer a native, yet consistent, ads management experience. Before that, I worked on Locked Profile, a privacy product designed to help women in emerging markets such as India, Myanmar, Bangladesh, Ethiopia and more, feel secure when using Facebook.

Previous iterations of me have worked at Box.com, designing their Admin experience, and also as the sole designer at Green Chef, a mealkit delivery startup.

‍In my free time
...you'd find me baking cakes or tarts or bread, playing with paper craft or toying with stop motion videos. I also volunteer for Cake4Kids– and bake custom birthday cakes for foster kids. (That is when my 2 year old leaves free time for me.)
